So, my friends after a few months again I am here to start our journey through Bangkok. It’s simply nice to be with here with you in all these journeys.

Today, we are here to start from The Grand Palace, which is the most visited place at Bangkok. It is situated at the Na Phra Lan Road. It was built in 1782, this ornate Royale Palace complex now houses a museum and is open to visitors.

  • Wat Phra Kaew – This place is one of the main attractions inside the Grand Palace. It is commonly known in English as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and officially as Wat Phra Si Rattana Satsadaram , is regarded as the most sacred Buddhist temple in Thailand . The complex consists of a number of buildings within the precincts of the Grand Palace in the historical centre of Bangkok. The statue of Emerald Buddha situated inside is venerated as the country’s palladium.

The Grand Palace of Bangkok is for over 150 years the home of the Thai King , the royal court and the administrative seat of Government. Within its walls were also the Thai war Ministry , state departments and even the mint . The change of sets of guards is indeed a beautiful happenings there to see . Today , the complex remains the spiritual heart of the Thai Kingdom.

Wat Phra Chetuphon – It is one of the beautiful temple with the large landmark offering serene grounds with a giant reclining Buddha, historic art and statues. It is commonly known as sleeping Buddha Temple. It is a must visit place here .

Wat Arun – It is another beautiful Buddhist temple in Bangkok situated at the Yai district of Bangkok, Thailand on the Thonburi west bank of the Chao Pharya River .The temple derives its name from the Hindu God Aruna, often personified as the radiations of the rising sun .

Wat Arun is among the best known of Thailand’s landmarks. The first light of the morning reflects off the surface of the temple with pearly shining . It’s distinctive prang or spire was built in the early nineteenth century during the reigns of RamaII and Rama III .It is commonly known as the temple of Dawn and it’s really really must visit place here .

  • Chatuchack weekend market – It is an indoor and outdoor market also known as JJ Market was reached a landmark status as a must visit place for tourists. A huge market about 35 acres , with 27 sections in all ,many shops more than 10000 shops and stalls offering a wide range of products from Thai handicrafts, the paradise for shopaholics .
  • Floating market , Bangkok- The most famous place for tourists interested of visiting this unique shopping areas conducted from traditional boats . The floating market of Bangkok still heaped with tropical fruits and vegetables, ready to drink coconut juice and local food cooked from floating kitchens seen right on the vessel.It is a must visit place , looking so colourful exquisiteness .
  • Siam Paragon – This place is the shoppers paradise . If you r searching for world wide brands , here you can be able to find all these things .This glass and steel luxury mega shopping mall has over 250 shops , one of Southeast Asia’s largest aquariums that is a very well known and enjoyable place for the children. There are a 16 screen cineplex and plenty of gourmet cafes and restaurants.

So, my friends, today we will be going through the food streets of Bangkok, there are certain cuisine here that must be tasted while visiting Bangkok.

  • 1. Tom yum goong ( spicy shrimp soup) – It’s the best known food you must taste here.It is filled with the fragrance of lemongrass , chilli , galangal , kaffir lime leaves , shallots , lime juice and fish sauce.It may come with classic & spicy variety . The best way you can have the soup with steamed rice.
  • 2 Som tum ( spicy green papaya salad) – It mainly comes from Thailand’s north eastern state of Isaan .It is composed of local spices like Garlic , chilies , green beans , cherry tomatoes and shredded raw papaya may be mixed with peanut , dry shrimp & salted crab that gives an aromatic smell of sweet & sour spicy flavour .
  • Tom kha Kai ( chicken in coconut soup ) – It is a less spicy chicken dish infuses with fiery chillies , thinly sliced young galangal , crushed shallots , stalks of lemon grass and tender pieces of chicken submerged in coconut milk . It’s really really satisfying and a must try dish here .
  • Gaeng daeng ( red curry ) – It is another colourful and flavourful dish containing meat, red curry paste and smooth coconut milk .It can be taken by vegetarians too by replacing meat with tofu .
  • Pad Thai ( Thai – style fried noodles) – Pad Thai is the most recommended dish of Thailand. Fistfuls of small thin or wide noodles, along with crunchy bean sprouts, onion and egg are stir – fried in a searing hot oak. This dish is usually containing sea foods especially with fresh shrimp, crab or squid , but at some places serve it with chicken, beef or pork . It’s indeed delicious and a must try dish anywhere at Thailand visit.
  • Khao pad ( fried rice ) – It is often enjoyed at lunch time at Bangkok . It is a very simple yet palatable dish to cooked with rice , egg and onion with the choice of ingredients like prawn , crab , chicken or tofu with the leftover vegetables.
  • Gaeng keow wan Kai ( Green Chicken curry ) – It’s an uniquely colourful dish prepared from green chillies . This green chicken curry contains coconut milk , cherry sized eggplants,bamboo shoots , galangal, lemongrass, coriander and sweet basil. It’s an beautifully aromatic dish and pairs well with flatbread or steamed rice.
  • Kai pad med ma muang ( stir – fried chicken with cashew nuts) – it is a very palatable dish which contains soy sauce , honey, onions, chillies and peeper as well as a variety of vegetables too.It’s a very good option for less spicy food even suitable for the children .
