So, my friends here I am again to take you to the other part of the world. Sounds interesting? Indeed it is! Today we are here to see the most important part of Southern Hemisphere.
Australia is a country with different views from each and everywhere. It is surrounded by Pacific Ocean, southern ocean where as middle of the country is mainly contained desert. The Northern part consists of hills. So , from geographical position it’s very unique too.
So, my friends, today we will start our journey from Melbourne through The Great Ocean Road which is an Australian National Heritage listed 243 kilometres stretch of road along the south-eastern coast of Australia between the Victorian cities of Torquay and Allansford.
A small historical value of this heritage road – It is built by returned soldiers between 1919 and 1932 and dedicated to soldiers killed during World War l, so this road is the world’s largest war memorial.
A little description of this beautiful road- Winding through varying terrain along the coast and providing access to several prominent landmarks, including the Twelve Apostles limestone stack formations, the road is an important tourist attraction in the region. The road traverses rainforests , as well as beaches and cliffs composed of limestone and sandstone, which is susceptible to erosion. The road travels via Anglesea, Lorne , Apollo Bay , and Port Campbell , the latter being notable for it’s natural limestone and sandstone rock formations including Loch Ard , Gorge, The Grotto , London Arch and The Twelve Apostles.
The road is two lanes ( one in each direction) , and is covered by a speed limit ranging between 50 km per hour and 100 km per hour .
To reach or to explore this beautiful road one may have the personal communication like car or camper van or one may avail several conducting tours from Melbourne.
So, my friends today we will start our journey towards The Great Barrier Reef which is an UNESCO World Heritage Site. To reach at this place you have to be at Cairns which is at about three hours and five minutes from Sydney by plane.
You may start your journey from Sydney and then come here to enjoy at Great Barrier Reef surfing or you may start your journey from Melbourne, enjoying The Great Ocean Road , then come to The Great Barrier Reef , then concluded your journey at Sydney.
So, The Great Barrier Reef is the world’s largest coral reef system composed of over 2,900 individuals reefs and 900 islands stretching for over 2,300 kilometres over an area of approximately 344, 400 square kilometres.
The reef is located in the Coral Sea , off the coast of Queensland, Australia. It can also be seen from the outer space and is the world’s biggest single structure made by living organisms.This reef structure is composed of and built by billions of tiny organisms,known as coral polyps.It supports a wide diversity of life , thereby selected as a World Heritage Site in 1981.
The reef is a very popular destinations for tourists, specially in the Whitsunday Islands and Cairns regions.
From Cairns, several catamaran tours conducted by which you may reach this areas and enjoying surfing, snorkelling and many more under water expeditions like submarine tour and all. By means of all these things you may explore those beautiful coral reefs .Usually it’s a day long tour.
Next, we will go for the Cairns Rainforest trip through cable car . It’s indeed a very beautiful experience to The West Tropics Rainforest spans for 450 kilometres and consists of 29 different national parks.Iconic Cairns Rainforest destination include the Daintree , Cape Tribulation , Kuranda and The Atherton Tablelands. All these places are worth visiting of them Daintree is a cultural museum to it’s custodians and a living timeline of evolution, where plant and animal life has thrived since Gondwana.
The sky rail Rainforest Cable Way is the best day trip to explore this vast and beautiful rainforest regions. Here you will have a great time with Koalas and Wallabies and of course with the Kangaroos, which is a national animal of Australia.

- Sydney Opera House – Designed by Danish architect Jørn Utzon , but completed by an Australian architectural team headed by Peter Hell , the building was formerly opened on 20th October 1973 . It is a multi -venue performing arts centre on Sydney Harbour located in Sydney, New South Wales , Australia. It is the most famous place for performing art.
The building and its surrounds occupy the whole Bennelong Point on Sydney harbour , between Sydney Cove and Farm Cove , adjacent to the Sydney central business district and the Royal Botanic Gardens , and close by the Sydney Harbour bridge .
- As it’s a very famous place to visit , near about 350,000 visitors take a guided tour of the building each year, so it’s mandatory to have booking pass or tickets prior to visit .
- On 28th June 2007, the Sydney Opera House became a UNESCO World Heritage Site .Furthermore, the Opera House was a finalist in the New 7 Wonders of the World .
- Cultural references- The Opera House along with the harbour bridge , frequently features in establishing shots in film and television to represent Sydney and the Australian nations.
- The Sydney Opera House appeared on the cover of the Phoenix Force adventure novel Down Under Thunder in 1986.
- It is appeared in the 1990 Disney animated film The Rescuers Down Under.
- Near the end of the 1996 film Independence Day , the Sydney Opera House appeared after an alien ship near Sydney was destroyed.
- It is featured in the 2004 Godzilla movie .

You may hire the train from the Central station , be there and after a day’s trip you may return to Sydney or you may stay there to experience the beauty of this place.
This place is best known for it’s dramatic scenery, it has steep cliffs , eucalyptus’s forests, waterfalls and villages dotted with guest-houses, galleries and gardens.
Katoomba , a major town in the area , borders Blue mountains National Park and it’s bushwalking trails .Here you will experience the beautiful three Sisters Sandstone Rock Formation. It’s really amazing natural phenomenon.
Hiking is the most important thing here , you may explore beautiful Everglades by hiking.
It is fifty km away from Sydney CBD . The highest point of this place is The Mount Boyce.Above all it’s must visit place when you are here .
